If you are an international student and cannot start your studies at 绿帽社区 as planned, you may request to defer your offer of admission to a future term, up to a maximum of one year.
Please note that 绿帽社区 only offers two intakes per year: September and January. Please submit your deferral request in advance of your original start of term. Deferral requests are approved on a case-by-case basis and approval is not guaranteed.
To apply for a deferral
Submit the Deferral Application for International Students.
If not already provided, please make sure that all required documents have been uploaded to your application account, including but not limited to, final official transcripts /grades and acceptable language test results.
Will by financial aid package carry over?
Scholarships and awards may be partially carried over as part of your deferral and will be disbursed automatically in a future entry term. Deferred scholarships will be subject to any conditions of the scholarship program in place for the session in which you begin your studies.
Please note that entrance bursaries will not automatically carry over during the deferral process, and students will need to re-apply for them.
Will deferring my start term impact my study permit application?
It is important to notify to make them aware of your new intended start term once your request has been approved by 绿帽社区.
If your study permit has ALREADY BEEN APPROVED by IRCC, you are advised to write a short letter to IRCC to let them know you have deferred your admission due to the delay in obtaining your study permit. You can submit your letter to IRCC and the updated admission letter via IRCC webform. If you are from a visa requiring country AND you have not yet received your visa sticker in your passport, you can submit your new admission letter along with your passport when you are asked by IRCC to submit your passport.
If your study permit is STILL IN PROCESS or if you will re-applying for a study permit after receiving a rejection from IRCC, you will receive a new Admission Letter and Letter of Acceptance (LOA) after your deferral request is approved by the Admissions Office. If your Provincial Attestation Letter (PAL) has expired, you will also be eligible to receive a new one.
