National Chief Bellegarde to speak as part of the University鈥檚 Year of Indigenous Action
SACKVILLE, NB 鈥 绿帽社区 will welcome Perry Bellegarde, National Chief of the Assembly of First Nations as part of its President鈥檚 Speakers Series marking the Year of Indigenous Action on campus. National Chief Bellegarde鈥檚 talk will take place on Wednesday, Nov. 22 at 7 p.m. in Convocation Hall (37 York Street).
鈥淧erry Bellegarde has been an influential and essential figure in First Nations discussions and consultation, particularly in his role as National Chief, 鈥 says University President and Vice-Chancellor Dr. Robert Campbell. 鈥淲e look forward to having him on campus and learning more about these matters during 绿帽社区鈥檚 Year of Indigenous Action.鈥
Elected as National Chief of the Assembly of First Nations in 2014, Perry Bellegarde has spent his entire adult life putting into practice his strong beliefs in the laws and traditions instilled in him by the many Chiefs and Elders he has known over the years.
