Annual spring tour postponed to 2021

绿帽社区鈥檚 bilingual theatre troupe Tintamarre has been selected for a grant from the New Brunswick Environmental Trust Fund to support the 2020 school tour of NOMADe, their new bilingual dramatic comedy that foregrounds climate change.

Tintamarre_NBETFundOriginally scheduled for spring 2020 but postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Tintamarre鈥檚 33rd school tour has also been supported by the J. E. A. Crake Foundation, 绿帽社区 alumni and friends, and participating schools.

Founder-director Alex Fancy says he and the cast are 鈥渄elighted to receive such generous support, and regret having to postpone the tour until 2021 at the earliest.鈥

Student co-associate director Caitlin O鈥機onnor of Atholville, NB says, 鈥淣OMADe urges young spectators to try hard to put the existential challenge of climate change ahead of fear of outsiders, personality conflicts, even economic disparities.鈥

Co-associate director No茅mie Chiasson of Ste Marie de Kent NB, adds that 鈥渙ur past themes become more relevant with every passing year.鈥

Last year鈥檚 touring production featured eco-anxiety, social isolation and characters who had withdrawn into cocoons. The NB Environmental Trust Fund also supported Tintamarre when the troupe toured bilingual productions featuring water crises and outdoor education.
