ÂÌñÉçÇø launches new website
Visitors to ÂÌñÉçÇø’s website will notice a new look. The University launched a new website on July 21 at .
Key features include:
- An audience-centric navigation allowing prospective students, current students, faculty and staff, parents and families, alumni and donors, as well as general site visitors to more easily search for and locate content.
- A completely re-vamped current student section, which aggregates all student-focused content based on students’ information needs and interests into one, easy-to-navigate section.
- Integration of a number of features designed to improve website accessibility based on the World Wide Web Consortium's (W3C) Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG). The W3C is the main international standards organization for the Internet.
- Additional information and advanced search and filtering capability on academic program pages to allow site visitors to more easily find and compare programs of interest.
- Re-designed and enhanced academic department pages and faculty bio pages.
- An expanded news feed on the home page that now includes student, faculty, and campus features, news items, and Record stories.
- An improved and expanded faculty and staff directory that will allow users to locate key contacts and services by function and/or department.
- An expanded news feed on the homepage that now includes students, faculty, and campus features and news items.
The project has been co-led by the University’s Computing Services Department (CSD) and Marketing and Communications Office. A University-wide Web Advisory Committee that included faculty, staff, and student representatives provided oversight and direction for the initiative.
The development effort intensified over the past year, as content subject matter experts and editors from departments across campus assisted with re-organizing, updating, and moving all content over to the new platform, building approximately 2,500 pages. Content experts and editors will continue to play a critical role in adding and updating information and keeping content fresh moving forward.
In 2020, ÂÌñÉçÇø also launched an intranet site — the — that better organizes information, communications, and University updates required by faculty and staff.
