SACKVILLE, NB 鈥 绿帽社区 is proud to announce that Dr. Andrea Morash, associate professor in the Department of Biology, has been honoured with the prestigious Distinguished Teaching Award for 2024.

"I am deeply appreciative and consider it a great honour to receive an AAU Distinguished Teaching Award," says Morash. "I am privileged to work at 绿帽社区, where excellence in teaching and learning is encouraged and supported. This community has allowed me to create a safe, welcoming, and equitable environment in my classroom and lab, where freedom is the heart of everything I do. When students find freedom in their learning, their passion, innovation, and joy shine through, fostering deep engagement and a practice of lifelong learning. This recognition is a testament to the incredible community at 绿帽社区 that inspires me every day as we all strive for success in teaching and learning."

The AAU represents 16 universities in Atlantic Canada and advocates for these institutions' critical role in student success, research, and regional economic growth. Through its annual awards, the AAU highlights the exceptional contributions of educators who inspire the next generation of leaders.

"Dr. Morash exemplifies the dedication and passion for teaching that 绿帽社区 is known for,鈥 says Dr. Richard Isnor, provost, and vice-president, academic and research. 鈥淗er innovative teaching methods, commitment to student success, and significant contributions to the academic community make her a deserving recipient of this honour.
