Introducing MtA Cafe

Alumni Career Mentorship and Networking
By: Carolle de Ste-Croix ('90), Director of Alumni Engagement and Giving

Dear alumni and friends,

Have you been wanting to volunteer with Mount A and looking for the right opportunity? We are currently recruiting 300 alumni volunteers to meet either electronically or in person with 300 students and younger graduates to offer one-on-one mentorship, networking, or simply job advice.

This new program evolved over the past six months from the Alumni Mentorship program. was developed and is powered by Ten Thousand Coffees. The MtA Café was opened online in late September to provide current students and alumni with a platform that fosters mentorship and networking. The program is an opportunity for students and recent graduates to receive meaningful career-oriented advice from alumni who are experienced in similar fields of work. Additionally, the platform allows our recent graduates and students an opportunity to expand their network, increasing their chances of being employed in a field of work that interests them.

Based on career goals and general interests, the MtA Café pairs students and recent graduates with alumni every eight weeks. From the initial connection made, pairings are encouraged to meet up for coffee, either in-person at a coffee shop or through the online chat option available on the platform. The connections made will ensure that Allisonians near and far have the necessary skills to navigate the current world of work.

I hope you enjoy all the stories this issue of the Record brings. We are all very excited about the and we hope you consider participating to share your valuable skills with current students and recent graduates.

We truly depend on and appreciate the support of our alumni immensely.

Sincerely,
Carolle de Ste-Croix (’90)
